Very realistic, gorgeous flames, excellent sound effects. -1 star because all the backdrops are blurred (low-rez) on 1080p resolution. Please fix.

Love this screen saver. Works well - on its own. It does not wake up from a mouse movement, you must touch a key. It doesnot appear with the other screen savers in the control panel.

love it ..sounds good and looks very real ..i put it on my wall through my projector 5 feet high and 8 feet wide…looks great..tks

Great looking screensaver in the traditional Planesoft quality. However, (please excuse the pun here and this is not a joke) this is the first screensaver that has caused burn-in on my imac screen. I have used other Planesoft products for a few years with no issues. With darker shades of wallpaper you can see the outline of the fireplace and the logs. It took about a week to notice the burn-in. I will be contacting Apple to discuss a replacement screen. Cannot give a good rating to this product !!

This helped me to relax while reading or studying. The graphics remind me of World of Warcraft whenever your in a tavern or an inn.

If youre trying to get some work done, dont get 3Planesoft screensavers. Half the time I just sit there staring at them in disbelief, immersing myself into their fantastic world of sound and excellent fantasy.

Looks great. Good price. It does not work with Mission Conrol in Lion. When you go into Mission Control. while Fireplace 3d is running you cant see the other apps running at the top of the screen is Mission Control. It works fine in screensaver mode but not when you are also running it in desktop background mode.

It would be much better if the logs did not look like a photo, but rather the embers glowing on a relay…or something. It does get a bit anoying looking at realistic flames but still logs. Also have the stones of the fireplace changing a bit more dramatically to the light of the fire.

I have seen the Win versions of this companys software and they are good. The Macs release of similar titles are spectacular in comparison! Ive used the lite versions, which are incredibly free and easy. I decided to purchase all of the full versions, and Im not sorry I did. Hey guys at the developers, get us a mega-pack of screen savers when you can! Ill definitely be on the list to buy them!!

Whats not to like? It is as realistic as it gets. Aside from no actual heat not a detail has been overlooked. My PC is in our master bedroom. I was against its placement from the very day it was purchased. Against my wishes, my spouse set up the new system on top of our brand new cherry chest of drawers! Later the same evening I came to our room ready to be stared down by the large, expensive, cold presence of our bedrooms newest addition. Instead, I was greeted by the soft glow of a slow burning fire. As I stood in awe, trying to understand why I was seeing such a thing, I heard crackling and noticed waves of heat gliding up the screen. I stood for a few minutes longer watching the dancing embers subtly shift through it hues of oranges and reds. I saw what I can only describe as orange fireflies dancing in systematic randomness as they were born from the red hot embers until their ascent to the perverbial chimney. Far too much dignity and pride to lose their glow in plain sight. Although there is no actual heat, I was warmed by the memories and their attached emotion that came washing over me. Many wonderful evenings by the fireside. Evenings with friends and wine and easy conversation. Evenings with family and hot chocolate and the added glow of the twinkling Christmas tree lights. Evenings with children and furry pets and loads of messy blankets and pillows, where the only light in the room was the firelight, where the only heat source in the entire house was from the same kind of crackling fire (the furnace only ever makes us aware of its inability to perform on the very first, very very cold night of the new winters season). So as I stood watching and thinking and revisiting quietly infront of the fire, I realized this was not a fireplace. There is no paper to twist and roll or newspaper ink to stain hands. There is no billowing smoke to fill the house when the chimney is too cold to let the fresh flames rise and no commotion of moms and dads running upstairs and down opening windows and sliding doors to give the trapped smoke an exit. There is no falling pieces of smoldering wood left unnoticed and burning outside the safety of the fireplace. There is just the peaceful entertainment of a well built fire. The app is worth the couple of dollars. It looks great. It makes the otherwise institutional feeling of a PC transform to a comforting and relaxing addition to our master bedroom. After all the children are in bed well off to their dreamlands, after I have folded and put away the last load of socks and shirts, after I have finally decided it is ok to wash my face and change into flannel pajamas, I fall silently into the overstuffed chair which has been placed just right and turn off the lights, I am offered a cup of english tea (an excellent fireside companion) by my spouse who occasionally looks at me with a very pleased look in his eyes and says softly, "I did good this time, didnt I ?" Love the crackling fire wood burning. Happily surprised you could add features like mantel, etc. Awesome! Perhaps a newer version may have 2-5 types of fireplaces or fire pits (ie on beach, beautfifully landscaped back yard with tiki torches, woods).

Incredibly realistic rendering that sizes to your screen. I have a triple monitor setup and this sets a tone in the room that I truly love. Cool that it works as a desktop background, rather than just as a screensaver.

I like the fact that it is in the screen saver mode. I have tried others that have a more realistic flame or those that use actual fire video but this meets the need just fine. I recommend this app.

I like the sight and sounds of the fire. The best one is the Traditional Fireplace in my opinion.

"Let me try this as a night light," I thought to myself. So I darkened the screen, set it to last an hour and a half, and went to bed. IT KNOCKS ME OUT COLD! My wife cant believe Im falling asleep before her. We hope you can include CRICKETS in future upgrades. Maybe a LOOKING OUT OF A TENT-CAMPFIRE version with more tents in the background and maybe, just maybe, a SLEEPING DOG for protection.

I cannot be more pleased with this application. I live in a very small 200 square foot apartment, so there was no way the builders were going to install a fireplace here. But Ive got one anyway, thanks to you!

I have mine set as a Victorian fireplace and it is so beautiful. The fire sounds and looks very realistic. I always have this on when I’m in a quiet room. I am able to think better as I work on my assignments, because it the sound of the fire crackles helps reduce the disturbing ringing and buzzing in my ears. This 3D fireplace is worth having. It is so very soothing and visually beautiful! Just to let you know, it is compatible with iMac’s newest OS Mavericks.
